Sandbaggers needed in Winfield‏ - Flood of 2008

Everyone,
Here is the latest message from the Stake Presidency on sand bagging. Do your best in all that you can do!
President Hank Bowman

Brethren,

We were told by officials in Winfield this evening that they will have 200 tons of sand delivered and ready for tomorrow (Tuesday) morning. Anyone that can assist between 9:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. would be much appreciated. Please do not head up there after 6:00 p.m. because they anticipate they will finish with this new delivery of sand by that time.

Thank you to Warrenton Ward and any others who were able to help knock out the 170 tons so quickly this afternoon that they ran out!

Anyone who goes up there should be sure to ask around for one of the "Mormon Helping Hands" bright yellow T-shirts to wear!

Thanks to all.

Your Stake Presidency

Fathers and Sons / Elders Quorum Activity‏

Activity Announcement
_______________
In case you didn't hear, the Fathers and Sons activity for this Friday/Saturday, has been canceled due to flooding conditions along the Missouri river. Sioux Passage park is currently closed due to the situation.
And, as a reminder, we hope you're planning on attending the Elders Quorum activity. This function has not been cancelled, and we are still planning on meeting at the church at 2:00 on Saturday to organize carpools.
--President Briscoe, do you have a map / driving directions yet?
Thanks,
Bro. Hale

Elders Quorum Gun/Rifle shooting activity - May 12th.‏

Announcement for the May ward Elders Quorum Event.
__________________
Elders,
We have an activity planned for Saturday, May 12th. Some of you have heard a little about this in our elders quorum meetings, and can help spread the enthusiasm to anyone who has not yet heard. Here are the details -
Jon Kercher and Steve Jones have organized this activity to coincide with a public rifle/gun/ammo demonstration activity that, according to Jon, will have every firearm under the sun available for you to try out. This is a public event, and as such we won't be the only ones participating. The quorum will provide some food and drinks during the event, but based on your shooting appetite, you may want to bring some additional money that would pay for the amount of firearms you would like to experience first-hand (sorry, the ammo isn't free).
This is meant for everyone in the quorum - gun lovers and gun non-lovers alike. So please plan on participating, and having fun with everyone in the quorum.
The plan is for us to meet at the church at 2:00 on Saturday the 12th, and carpool to this event together (it is located in west St. Charles County).
So, to summarize -
Gun-totin' and shootin' (but not hog tyin') activity -
Saturday May 12th
2:00 pm at the church (carpool)
Please contact Jon Kercher or Steve Jones for more information, or speak with a member of the Elders Quorum presidency.
Thanks,
Bro. Hale
